o IRC is committed to providing care that respects patient dignity and cultural, religious, personal, and ethical values and beliefs of all patients, ensuring their privacy and confidentiality.
o All patient information, whether in paper or electronic form, is confidential and protected from loss or misuse.
o Patient privacy, values and beliefs must be maintained during interviews, examinations, procedures/treatments, and transport.
o Staff must inquire about and respect individual patient privacy needs, expectations and incorporate patients’ values and beliefs.

Religious Beliefs( Prayer, Religious Practices, Dietary Restrictions, Modesty, End-of-Life Care)

• Procedures:
o Patient Privacy During Care
Staff must provide care that respects patient values and beliefs.
During interviews, examinations, and treatments, staff must ensure that the patient’s privacy, values and beliefs is maintained by using curtains, private rooms, and appropriate clothing.
o Confidentiality of Patient Information
Patient information must be stored securely and only accessible to authorized personnel.
Confidential discussions should occur in private settings.
Information should not be posted on doors or in public areas.
o Communication of Privacy Rights
Inform patients about their rights to privacy and confidentiality upon admission.
Explain how patient information is used, stored, and protected.
Obtain patient consent for the release of information not covered by laws and regulations.
