Opening on Saturday, 21 October 2017 from 7pm to 10pm under the patronage of Her Excellency Sheikha Sayed Al Qassimi, the exhibition remains on view until 09 December 2017 at IRC Art Gallery, 2nd Floor, Egyptian Trade Centre, Opposite of Sharjah Expo, Taawun, Sharjah.

About the Artists:

Sannaliina is a Finnish artist and a designer. She expresses her feelings through her Scandinavian minimalist style of action painting. Like Minimalism, its use of commercial techniques eliminated emotional content implied by the artist's individual approach, something that has been important to the previous generation of modern painters.

Shahzad is a Pakistani artist making calligraphy patterns by using words from Urdu poetry inspired by Faiz Ahmed Faiz and Iqbal, giving a new eye in calligraphy art.

Both artist try to embed their thoughts, having long conversations and understanding to each other’s philosophy of cultures. Their work is done by ‘painting with original gold and silver leaf or stamp metal’ using the same techniques of gilding as the old masters around the world. Calligraphy is the art of forming beautiful symbols by hand and arranging them well. Action painting, sometimes called "gestural abstraction", is a style of painting in which paint is spontaneously dribbled, splashed or smeared onto the canvas, rather than being carefully applied. It challenge the perception of art".
