Brush Meets Camera
A word from curator Peter Gressmann founder of artforumuae :
Shruka Gosavi is from India. Shruka relays a cross- section of her works through the last 9 years. Her contemporary paintings show the viewer that contemporary art is not art that cannot be understood. Her work visualizes the expression and behavior of human beings. They are awesome, strong in color and form. She produces something that is somewhere between surreal and neo-realistic, capvang the viewer. Shruka Gosavi is one of the best arsts from India, one day her works will be admired in many museums as her art is art which will survive for centuries.
Salma Serafi, the photographer has without a doubt the eye for the snapshot. As opposed to the posed and post- processed photos that are over praised and joined at the hip, next to true fine art. The art of being a photographer is to see the moment and capture it. This is the only way to create real works of art with the camera. Salma Serafi has the gift to see these moments worthy of being captured - as she impressively shows with her selected photos in this exhibion. Fine art photography does not require expensive equipment; even with a simple camera or with the camera of a cellphone - one can capture great works of art and this is what Salma does.
